PRETTY Danielle Kane from Craig-y-Don is hoping to take the tiara at the Miss Wales beauty competition.
Danielle, 17, is currently on a business course at Coleg Llandrillo and funds her studies with a part-time job at Monsoon.
Blonde Danielle is hoping that winning the Miss Conwy regional round will get her a place on the catwalks. She said: “I haven’t done any professional modelling before and hope this will kickstart a modelling career.
“I entered last year and got through to the semi-finals of Miss Wales but couldn’t get down to Cardiff. Now I have a boyfriend with a car, it shouldn’t be a problem!”
Danielle’s hunger for success as a model is evident.
“I really want to get through to the Miss Wales finals. I’m so excited about this competition,” she said. “My boyfriend and family are all behind me and are very supportive of my bid to win Miss Conwy. I haven’t told my friends yet as I’m not sure what they would say. Girls can be a bit catty!”
Danielle is adamant that modelling isn’t just for bimbos.
“I don’t think beauty competitions are outdated at all,” said Danielle. “If anything, I think they are more popular than ever. There seemed to be lots on television last year, the beauty pageant is coming back!”
