POLICE raids across Conwy led to six arrests and a massive drug haul in a two-day operation.
Following residents’ concerns regarding drug dealing in Llandudno, Llandudno Junction and Conwy, Operation Abate sprung into action on Wednesday.
Police raids uncovered somewhere in the region of 15 mature cannabis plants, together with dried leaves and associated paraphernalia in Conwy. Heroin and cocaine with a street value of around £3,000 were also siezed, as well as a large quantity of suspected stolen property including a laptop, computer games, consoles and DVDs.
Six people arrested for drugs related offences including possession with intent to supply and abstraction of electricity.
A 31-year-old male faced Llandudno magistrates on a charge of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs on September 19. Two people were cautioned, two were bailed pending further inquiries and one was released without charge.
District inspector Andy Broadhead said: “This was an intelligence-led operation in response to community concerns regarding individuals and addresses that were involved in the use of, and supply of, controlled drugs. It involved officers from the local neighborhood policing teams. As a result, we have prevented a significant quantity of Class A drugs from reaching the streets of West Conwy.
“I would like to thank the community for their patience in letting us tackle this problem. Keep the information coming in and we will continue to work for you.
“I would urge anyone whose life has been blighted by drug use to seek help through the local support and rehabilitation network. This operation was not a one-off and we will continue, with more visits planned.”
