Abergele to kick off Christmas with festive concert

ABERGELE politicians are ho-ho-hoping their Christmas celebration will be welcomed by residents and visitors when it begins in the town tomorrow, Friday, December 12.

A festive concert is being hosted at St Paul’s Chapel, on Bridge Street, and Mayor Ron Peacock is among those hoping the event will be a big success.

"I’m definitely looking forward to the event following how well it went last year, and hopefully it’ll become an annual tradition for us" he said.

"Everything has very much been kept local, from the food we’re preparing to the Gele singers who will be performing, who I’m sure will put in another strong performance this year."

Mr Peacock said that all the members of the town council had been busy with preparations for the event, which will also see entertainment provided by pupils from the Glan Gele, Glan Morfa and Emrys ap Iwan schools in the town.

The Abergele Christmas Concert begins in the chapel tomorrow at 7pm with free admission, with any charity donations going towards the 2009 Year of St Elfod celebrations.
