Great A-level success for Ysgol Aberconwy students

CLEVER teens at Ysgol Aberconwy celebrated success in their AS and A2 levels.

Headtacher David Wylde said, "It is pleasing to see so many pupils doing well at A level. There have been many pupils achieving high grades, including Michael Turton and Chirali Patel who both got three A grades in their A Levels. It is always fantastic to be able to report that all of our pupils seeking a place at university for September have been able to do so."

Ffion Hughes-Foggo celebrated getting four high AS passes, as well as an A2 in Welsh. Ffion said: "My parents only speak a little bit of Welsh but I was encouraged by my grandparents to get an A Level in it. I think it’s really important to be bilingual and it is such a help in trying to get good jobs in North Wales. I’m really happy with my A grades, especially as I did an extra subject. My mum is ecstatic and is phoning all the family to let them know how I did."

Scientifically-minded pals, Suzy Wallace and Emma Dyke were pleased with their top AS marks. Suzy, having received A grades in Maths, Chemistry and Biology and a B in Physics, was pleased with her results. "I haven’t told my parents what I’ve got yet but I think they will be proud. I’m not sure what I will do at university, maybe Physics and Philosophy."

Emma Dyke did even better, managing to pull off an impressive four A grades in AS Level Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Geography. She said: "I’m not sure yet what I will do after next year, I’m focusing instead on completing my A Levels."
