PEOPLE gathered at the war memorial on Llandudno promenade on Sunday to mark the 70th anniversary of the start of the Holocaust in which six million people died.
A wreath was laid on behalf of Llandudno Town Council by mayor Greg Robbins, and another on behalf of the local Jewish community by Laura Blank.
Throughout this week, a Holocaust survivor has been visiting local secondary schools, telling his story of life in Czechoslovakia under Nazi rule and his escape to Britain.
John Fieldsend, a retired Anglican clergyman of Jewish descent, will also be telling his story at a special commemorative event on Thursday at Emmanuel Christian Centre, Lloyd Street, Llandudno. The meeting, which is free and open to all, begins at 7.30pm.
