Conwy Christmas Eve carols

HUNDREDS of carol singers gathered under the Christmas tree at Conwy’s Lancaster Square on Christmas Eve.

Crowds were treated to carols from singer Sioned Terry while Father Christmas read out letters from school children.

The Beulah Brass Band were also on hand at the event which was stewarded by volunteers including members of Conwy Estuary Lions.

Cllr Sarah Allardice said the event had been a great success.

“It was very well attended considering the weather,” she said.

“The fireworks were fabulous and lots of people stayed for the whole event, although some people did leave early as the rain was pretty awful.

“But it was a lovely event; last year was cancelled because the vicarage car park was like an ice rink and it was nice to have it back, it was a nice atmosphere and lots of people came prepared with umbrellas.

“I think people were really glad it wasn’t snowing like last year.”
