Guard stole £36K in metal thefts from Colwyn Bay car parts factory

Prosecutor Ian Evans said Harris was employed as a security guard for two years and worked at night.

Due to concern about the amount of material that had vanished, covert CCTV cameras were installed. Police were able to trace 28 transactions to scrapyards at Rhyl and Bangor.

Mr Evans said: “Since it was discovered property was going missing there’s been suspicion and ill-feeling among the employees, each thinking their colleague was responsible for the thefts.”
