Thousnads brave cold for Llandudno Christmas parade

THOUSANDS of people lined Llandudno’s main street on Saturday for the annual Christmas parade and the switching on of the resort’s illuminations.

The waiting crowds were entertained outside the Town Hall by Llandudno Town Band and the Batala Bermo Samba Band and carols were sung by the choir from Ysgol San Sior.

The parade was led by the town crier, David Pryce, and a Nativity trailer put together by Christian group Cytun.

Other attractions were three land trains carrying 200 children in fancy dress, numerous costume characters, City of Liverpool Pipes and Drums, Galactic Knights and a vintage tram carrying carnival queens and princesses.

There was also a vintage car, sponsored by the Victoria Centre, carrying Miss Alice, Queen Victoria, a European princess and Llandudno’s carnival empress.
