Flasher who exposed himself to girl in Betws y Coed must sign sex offenders’ register
Flasher sentenced
A 44-year-old flasher received an 18-month community order and must register as a sex offender for five years after he admitted five offences of exposing himself.
Alwyn Roberts, of Dolydd, Betws y Coed, had since the offences at the Snowdonia village resigned from his job and was unemployed, magistrates at Llandudno heard.
Defence solicitor Donald Roberts said his client had been well thought of in the community until the offences.
”There’s been a mixed reaction. A lot of people have stood by him and offered support and sympathy. He accepts what he’s done is wrong,” he said.
The solicitor added: ”He’s still unable to explain why he did what he did other than depression and stress caused by his financial problems.”
There were character references from people who found his behaviour out of character. A sexual offences prevention order was made for five years banning contact with the two victims, one of them a girl.
Murder charge denied
A 43-year-old man has denied attempting to murder his partner.
William Alwyn Williams, of Beach Drive, Penrhyn Bay, is charged with trying to kill Sharon Harris, 39, at Penrhyn Bay in September.
He is also accused of wounding her and her 35-year-old brother Gwilym Griffiths on the same day at the village.
Judge Merfyn Hughes QC at Caernarfon crown court remanded him in custody until a hearing in February.
