Talented Craig-y-Don singer is a member of the UK’s top choir

A YOUNG singer from Craig-y-Don, Llandudno, has achieved national glory as part of an award-winning choir.
Former Ysgol Craig-y-Don and Rydal Penrhos pupil, and Coleg Llandrillo performing arts student, Hannah Roberts, 21, is a member of UCLan Chamber Choir and is its first alto.
Her first stage experience was gained with Llandudno Junction based Kaleidoscope Theatre Company and she hopes to make a career in musical theatre.
The 26-strong choir made up of members of the music theatre degree course at the University of Central Lancashire (UCL) won the adult choir category in the BBC’s Choir of the Year competition at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday.
The concert was presented by Aled Jones and will be broadcast on Radios 4 and 3 on December 4 and 29 respectively.
