PUPILS from Ysgolion Penmachno and Ysbyty Ifan had a taste of life in Tudor times at a visit to the National Trust’s Ty Mawr, Wybrnant.
The youngsters enjoyed a series of hands-on workshops, including making reed candles, preparing and cooking Tudor food, gardening and making their own wattle and daub walls.
Ty Mawr is a traditional stone-built upland farmhouse, set in the heart of the Conwy Valley.
It was the birthplace of Bishop William Morgan in 1545, the first translator of the Bible into Welsh.
This was the first time these activities have been provided and the National Trust is keen to hear from other groups and schools who might be interested in similar workshops in the future.
