Hundreds sprint home at popular annual triathlon

HUNDREDS of competitors sprinted to the finish line in Llanrwst at the weekend after taking part in the popular but gruelling annual Sprint Triathlon.

The race, organised by Carneddau Triathlon Club attracts athletes, professional and amateur, to challenge themselves over a gruelling 400m pool swim, 30km bike route – starting in Llanrwst, and run through the Conwy Valley villages of Trefriw, Dolgarrog, Tal-y-Bont and Tyn-y-Groes.

The first male competitor over the finish line was Arthur Connell of Team Revolution Cycles at one hour 16 minutes, and the first female and third overall was race regular Rhian Roxburgh of Carneddau Triathlon Club at one hour 18 minutes.

The North Wales Police Triathlon Champions were Neil Coppack and Yvie Johnson.
