Mayor keeps eyes on road
THE new mayor of Llanrwst has vowed to continue to pressurise the Welsh Assembly Government to improve pedestrian safety in the town.
Cllr Christine Humphreys, president of the Welsh Liberal Democrats and part-time tutor of Welsh to adults at Bangor University, said: “I’m delighted to have been elected as the mayor of my home town, it’s very special to me to know that I’m representing the people I grew up with.
“I would like to pay tribute to the work done by our past mayor, Pat Rowley. She has worked tirelessly on behalf of the people of Llanrwst and is certainly a hard act to follow.
“One of my main aims as mayor will be to continue to pressurise the Welsh Assembly Government and the Trunk Road Agency to take action to improve pedestrian safety in the town, particularly in relation to the safety of our children on their way to school.”
