Charity ball boosts hospice funds
A PAINTING of Caernarfon Castle by artist William Selwyn raised over £1,000 and a Manchester United shirt signed by Wayne Rooney made £800 in an auction at a charity ball to raise funds for St David’s Hospice.
The glittering event attended by 250 people was held in a marquee at Fugro Robertson at Llanrhos last Friday evening, and has been proclaimed a resounding success which should boost hospice funds by thousands of pounds.
“Individuals and companies have been very supportive and we received major sponsorship from Pentraeth Audi of Penmon on Anglesey as well as many donations of auction items, draw and raffle prizes,” said the hospice’s fundraising manager Beth Bithell.
The theme for the evening was A Splash of Red and most attendees wore an item of red clothing.
Entertainment and music was provided by Bryan George and Ian Turner.
