Tributes to popular Llandudno estate agent flood in

TRIBUTES to a popular estate agent have been flooding in following his sudden death last Thursday.

Paul Davies, 52, was a director of Bryan Davies Associates of Llandudno and Rhos-on-Sea and worked alongside his father Bryan and younger brother Sean.

Two years ago he was captain of Llandudno’s Maesdu Golf Club where the flag is flying at half mast in his memory.

On Tuesday Sean said the family had been deeply touched by the overwhelming support shown to them in their sad loss.

“We would like to express our gratitude for the many dozens of cards and messages of sympathy we have received. They are helping to give us comfort,” he said.

The father of two passed away while driving along a slip road onto the A55 at Glan Conwy corner.

The North Wales Coroner’s Office has confirmed he died of natural causes.

A proud dad to Amy, and Christopher, who served with the RAF in Afghanistan, Mr Davies was married to Mandy and lived in Llandudno.

Close family friend Graham Robinson, who co-founded Bryan Davies and Associates, worked with Mr Davies for over 35 years and said he was “a star” who would be greatly missed.

“We’re all absolutely shocked, we keep thinking we're going to wake up from this bad dream,” he said.

“Paul worked with me for a long, long time, since around 1973. He was one of the nicest people you could ever imagine.

“I have spoken to his dad Bryan and he’s obviously devastated. How do you console a father who’s lost his son?”

Mr Robinson, who has come out of retirement to help the business, by running the Rhos on Sea office of which Paul was director added: “It was so unexpected, Paul was a fit and healthy man. Nobody can believe this has happened.

“The company has been inundated with tributes. He was a star who will be greatly missed, particularly by his family. He was a real loving, family man.”

Mr Davies’ dark coloured Vauxhall Vectra ploughed into bushes on a slip road leading onto the eastbound A55.

Witnesses told how paramedics desperately tried to save his life at the roadside. But he was pronounced dead at the scene. The slip road was blocked for a period, with drivers diverted through Mochdre to rejoin the A55 at Colwyn Bay.

His funeral service is at 10am on Monday at St Paul’s Church in CraigyDon, followed by a private service for family and close friends at Colwyn Bay Crematorium
