Rachel to tackle two lakes for Sport Relief

A YOUNG girl from Llanrwst has been so inspired to help raise money for this year’s Sports Relief appeal that she is preparing for an eight mile hike next month.

Eleven-year-old Rachel Gates will be undertaking a mammoth trek around two Snowdonia lakes on March 13 in a bid to raise money for the national charity appeal.

The Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy pupil will walk round Llyn Geirionydd and then over to Llyn Crafnant and back with her stepdad Pete Davies.

He said: “Rachel has always liked walking and is quite sporty and felt inspired by the Sport Relief appeal and wanted to help.

“Although it’s a bit of a hike around both lakes – about six to eight miles in total – Rachel is determined she will make it. And I will be with her all the way.”

Rachel is hoping Weekly News readers will dig deep and sponsor her. Contact 07817 987333 to donate.
