A BUSINESSMAN was caught drink driving by police tipped off he’d driven away from a pub.
Antiques dealer Nicky Collinge, 49, was banned for a year after admitting drink driving in his BMW at Bryn y Maen in November. Collinge, of Gwynt y Môr, Conwy, was also fined £450 with £85 costs, plus a £15 victims' surcharge.
Magistrates at Llandudno heard his blood-alcohol count was 105. The legal limit is 80. Richard Williams, defending, said Collinge thought he would be below the legal limit after drinking wine. “This was a case of miscalculation,” he added. “The impact of the disqualification is going to be significant.”
