Valentine Day prize to be won for Conwy lovers
A MUM-of-two has set up a new business creating gifts for newborn babies and Valentine’s Day lovers.
Jan Johnson from Llandudno Junction has always had a passion for making crafts. She got the idea for “nappy cakes” from America where they are popular gifts for new mums.
Jan, 46, said: “The ‘nappy cakes’ are made by rolling towels into tiers like a wedding cake.
“You can get up to three tiers and gifts such as vests, socks, disposable nappies and teddy bears are placed on the ‘cake’ to decorate them.
“I started selling the nappy cakes through Facebook, maternity wards and school fairs and they went down very well.
“I’ve also branched into make Valentine’s cakes and what I call ‘pots of gold’. These are small baskets filled with chocolate coins and a lottery ticket. The cakes can be personalised to whatever the person wants.”
The Weekly News has a Valentine cake to give away worth £40. Simply answer the following question: Who is St Valentine? a. Patron saint of lovers; b. Patron saint of Wales; c. Welsh patron saint of lovers.
