Top marks for school
A PRIMARY school has won a remarkable set of top marks from inspectors.
Estyn school inspectors awarded Ysgol Glan Gele in Abergele a Grade 1 in each of the seven areas inspected, which is rare.
Headteacher Julia Buckley Jones, staff and governors are thrilled the Estyn inspectors described their school as outstanding.
A school spokesman said: “We are thrilled. This is a fantastic achievement for any school. The very high academic standards achieved by Glan Gele pupils in English, maths, science, ICT and bilingualism were noted and attributed to the hard work and dedication of the staff coupled with the inspirational leadership of the headteacher, senior management team and governing body.”
Not enough exercise
WELSH adults are failing to get enough daily exercise with 66% admitting they don’t get their 30 minutes of physical activity a day, the recommended daily amount, according to a survey by the British Heart Foundation Cymru.
