CYCLISTS headed for Abergele no longer need to worry about where to park, after a new facility was unveiled in the town earlier this week.
Delyth Macrae, the town’s mayor, said on Wednesday that a cycle rack installed at the town’s library on Market Street was proving a hit with residents, who had asked Abergele Town Council to install it.
“It’s something we’ve needed for a while now, and is a direct response to something which the people of Abergele have asked us for,” she said.
“Even in its first few days it’s great to see that so many people are using it, and particularly younger people, when previously bikes would have been left lying on the ground outside the library.
The cycle rack has been installed alongside a new map of the town and the surrounding area, and meets previous criticisms that the town was not doing enough to meet the needs of cyclists.
Work on the cycle rack was completed last Thursday, following a drive by members of the town council over the past 12 months to have one installed at the site of the library.
