Amnesty International show at Abergele Library

Lung test results

CROWDS flocked to a lung testing event to join in the search for undiagnosed conditions last week.

The British Lung Foundation Wales offered free lung testing at the Victoria Centre, Llandudno, on June 2, to anyone who reported breathing problems or had concerns about their lung health.

People were given useful information about lung health, lung conditions and the work of the British Lung Foundation Wales.

Of the 54 people tested almost 17% were referred back to their GP to have follow up investigations.

Kate Cubbage, Communications Officer, British Lung Foundation Wales said: “We’d like to thank the people of Llandudno and the wonderful team from Ysbyty Glan Clwyd for making the day a huge success.

“No doubt we will have put a lot of people’s minds at rest as well as helping those who have a breathing problem to take the first steps towards a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.”

Show is child’s play

AMNESTY international is joining forces with Abergele Library this week in a bid to bring the issue of human rights to life for young people.

The organisation will be hosting an exhibition at the library featuring extracts from the book We Are All Born Free, which was published last year to celebrate 60 years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The exhibition, which runs until August 22, sees the historic document turned into drawings by a range of famous children’s illustrators.
