TWO men who appeared to be drunk were spotted travelling in a dinghy along the River Conwy during the early hours of Friday.
The coastguard alerted an inland lifeboat at 3am after the men, who were in their early 20s, were spotted on the river.
Conwy inland lifeboat was launched to help, but the duo managed to safely get out of their boat at Deganwy.
The police and coastguard were greatly concerned that there may have been two fatalities as the sea conditions were extremely rough and the dinghy could easily have been swamped.
Two men in soaking wet clothes were later spoken to by police, but denied being involved and were subsequently released. The police said nobody has yet been arrested.
