Train with fire service

YOUNGSTERS from across Conwy county took part in North Wales Fire and Rescue Service’s Phoenix course.

The project is designed to enhance skills such as team work and communication while helping the youngsters gain self-confidence.

PupiIs aged between 13 and 15 from Ysgol y Graig, Colwyn Bay, were among those who took part in the event at Llanfairfechan fire station.

During the week they were given the opportunity to see the work carried out by the fire service and were allowed to take part in drills.

Other activities were arranged as well as a visit to the control room to see how emergency calls are received and appliances mobilised.
