RUMOURS that a major Llandudno car dealership is on the brink of closure due to the credit crunch have been dispelled by the owner.
Ken Jones, managing director of Anglesey-based Pentraeth Motors, says he has heard the whispers that the Mostyn Broadway showroom and repair shop is to close but there is no truth in them.
“It’s just a rumour which might have started due to a report that new car sales nationally are down 12%, but there is no truth in it at all. The Llandudno garage is a very important service operation for our group. We have a long-term contract with Honda and we’re going to be there for the foreseeable future,” he said.
Take a Lions’ share!
LLANRWST Lions are holding a membership drive in the town square this Saturday.
If you have a few hours’ spare each month, go along and talk to the group.
More members are needed to raise money to help less fortunate people.
Also on Saturday the club will be promoting its Message in a Bottle scheme.
If you live alone this can be a vital link between you and the emergency medical services. There is no charge and everything will be carefully explained to you.
Enjoy coffee time
A COFFEE morning will be held at 10am on Thursday, October 23, at Llanddulas Royal British Legion to raise money for St Cynbryd’s Church Funds.
