ABERGELE’S answer to the Grand Canyon received a flying visit from two of the region’s politicians.
Town councillor Tim Rowlands and Welsh Assembly member Darren Millar joined forces for the visit to praise its contribution to the region’s economy.
“It was a pretty fascinating visit. The quarry is huge and is exceptionally well-run. It is a very good neighbour to those in the area and should be commended for the way it liaises with the local community,” said Mr Millar, Welsh Assembly member for Clwyd West.
The quarry, on Nant Du Road, is used to provide heavy materials to the construction industry and during a recent excavation was found to have been used since neolithic times.
