Will your football boots help Africa?

A COMPANY which supplies football stars with specially made commemorative frames has joined forces with a Championship club to supply boots to deprived youngsters in Africa.

Based on Oak Drive in Colwyn Bay, Inner Frame has joined forces with professional footballer Craig Morgan, originally from Colwyn Bay, and Sheffield United which is heading the campaign.

The family business recently supplied commemorative frames to the likes of Ajax and mighty Inter Milan and are using their contacts in the football world to help underprivileged children in the Third World.

The company is asking for any old football boots to be donated so they can be recycled for adults and children.

Inner Frame will be approaching schools asking for old football boots. If a pupil wishes to make a donation of £2, the company will also supply a boot bag. The boots must be laced, clean and tied together.

Inner Frame partner Gareth Roberts, 21, said: “We think it is a really good charity and once we heard about the appeal we were eager to get involved,” he said.

“We are hoping to gather as many boots as possible. These children are kicking a ball around every day in bare feet and it can’t be good for them.”

Gareth’s mother and business partner Sue Roberts thanked Craig Morgan for helping spearhead the campaign.

Morgan is a Welsh international who now skippers Peterborough United and used to play for Wrexham in their old Football League days.

“We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Craig who jumped at the chance to help us launch the appeal in North Wales and was only too pleased to assist us in getting the campaign off the ground,” said Sue.

Anybody wishing to donate football boots can contact Inner Frame on 01492 531406 or 07521 443781 and they will make arrangements to collect the boots from you.
