Cop Rachel joins elite nuclear force

A CRIMEBUSTING cop is celebrating after she completed a course enabling her to join one of Britain’s most specialised police forces.

Rachel Hare, 24, graduated as a constable in the Civil Nuclear Constabulary which is tasked with guarding some of the UK’s highest profile nuclear sites.

Rachel, of Abergele, is now working alongside her colleagues at the Sellafield Power Station in Cumbria.

She undertook 14 weeks of training in preparation for her new post, covering topics such as law, interview techniques and handling firearms.

She will now carry out a number of duties for the force at Sellafield, including performing foot patrols, security searches, and responding to incidents at the site.

“I would like to welcome Rachel to the force. I hope she will have a long and successful career with us,” said CNC chief constable Richard Thompson, who handed Rachel her certificate.
