Better than Disneyland!
A THIRTEEN-year-old boy who has stayed at Llandudno’s Imperial Hotel every year of his life thinks Llandudno is better than Disneyland.
And Tom Harris from London is so in love with the resort that he has written down his memories of the 26 visits he has made to the Imperial since he was eight months old.
“I have spent a week at the Imperial every year of my life as well as returning for shorter stays. I have a feeling of coming home when we arrive and to our family it is the complete holiday for us. After my last stay I decided to write a short story about my lifetime of holidays at the Imperial and sent this to Mr Lofthouse, the general manager, as I wanted them all to know how much we love our time at the hotel and Llandudno.
“You can imagine how amazed I was when I returned this week to see the hotel had framed it,” he said. Tom says the family have visited other hotels and destinations but nothing measures up to Llandudno and the Imperial.
“People might think we get bored doing the same old thing every year but we always find something different to do. We have been to other places but even the Disneyland hotel in Paris came in a poor second,” he said.
Geoff Lofthouse, the Imperial’s general manager, said: “We do get letters of thanks and appreciation sent to us often, but Tom’s story really epitomised all that the Imperial Hotel stands for – a warm personal welcome with special attention to detail, coupled with activities in the hotel and surrounding area which make every stay memorable.
“Tom’s story also showed that Llandudno has kept up with him as he’s grown up and has so much to offer.”
