TWO public meetings about proposed post office closures take place this week.
A meeting takes place at Ysgol Cerrigydrudion this Thursday (August 28) at 7pm with representatives of the Post Office, AM Darren Millar and David Jones MP in attendance, while another concerning the Abergele Road post office in Colwyn Bay takes place this Friday (August 29) at St Paul's Church Hall at 7pm, also with Post Office reps in attendance.
A spokesman for Pentrefoelas Community Council said the Conwy Valley meeting will be an opportunity to ask the Post Office representative to extend the outreach service, be more flexible to meet customer requirements and to withdraw the clause in the sub-postmaster's contract which denies him the opportunity to offer paypoint, mobile phone top-ups or the selling of stamps for 12 months.
