Llanrwst man dies on Malaysian oil rig

A man from North Wales has died following an accident on an oil rig off Malaysia.

Ioan Kenrick, originally from Llanrwst, Conwy, had worked on oil rigs abroad for a number of years.

Mr Kendrick, who was in his mid 40s, is understood to have died on Monday and it is believed his body will be returned to Wales for his funeral.

Mr Kendrick lived in Penang, Malaysia with his Filipino partner and their two young children, a daughter and son.

He also had a home in Glan Conwy.
