LIVE music fans can get their festival fix in Llanfairfechan when Llanfest kicks off on Saturday, August 30.
Now in its fourth year, this year’s event is set to be even bigger than ever.
Revellers can look forward to a line-up of acts including Bryn Fôn, Something Personal, Emyr Gibson, Rhian Mostyn, DPX, Hogiau’r Bonc, Get Out Clause, Rhesus Negative and Steffan Cravos.
Run by Gareth Jones and Rhian Mostyn at their farm Tyn Llwyfan, Llanfest promises to be a great night out and partygoers can even rest assured their beer money will be well spent.
“Proceeds this year will go towards T Gobaith, Llanfairfechan FC and Llanfairfechan carnival as I think it’s important to plough money back into the local community,” Gareth said.
Signed rugby shirts from Ospreys, Swan-sea City and Llanelli Scarlets will be up for grabs to raise funds for the causes.
Organiser Rhian, who’s also performing at the festival, believed the event will be more than worth the trouble.
“It’s a lot of hard work, but I am looking forward to it,” she said.
“After last year, Gareth and I said ‘never again’, but so many people kept asking when it would be on that we thought we might as well!
“Many of the bands are playing for free to keep costs low in the hope that local people who wouldn’t normally go to a music event, or be able to afford to, might be tempted to come along.
“We are proud to promote local bands and Welsh language acts, and hope that through Llanfest, we can give something back to the local community by providing quality entertainment and supporting worthy causes.”
Last year’s Llanfest raised nearly £3,000 for the International Sheepdog trials. Set in a barn revellers are protected from rain and mud synonymous with other UK festivals, so wellies can be left at home.
Tickets cost £5 with free entry for under-12s. Ticket prices includes free camping. Llanfest runs from 7pm-2am at Tyn Llwyfan Farm on Newry Drive, Llanfairfechan. For more information call 01248 681624 or 01248 681039.
