EXCEPTIONAL students celebrated at Coleg Llandrillo’s 15th annual graduation ceremony held at Venue Cymru in Llandudno.
As part of proceedings 13 students from the Rhos-on-Sea college were commended in the achievers of the year ceremony and were awarded cash prizes and a certificate.
The winners were nominated for awards from over 23,000 students who studied on over 3,000 courses across the college this year.
Nominees were judged against specific criteria such as outstanding work, exceptional support and encouragement given to fellow students and the achievement of the qualification despite personal difficulties.
Among the award winners was Carla Williams, from Colwyn Bay, who was achiever of the year for health and Hannah Walsh, from Conwy, who received the award for education.
Gerard Hodgson, from Llanfairfechan, was the achiever of the Year for Abergele, Denbigh and Llanrwst centres, Jonathan Diredja received the award for business studies, Katrina McKillen in construction, Connie Middleman for performing arts and design, Sandra Carratero for engineering, computing and media, Emma Jones for hair and beauty, Stephanie Western for hospitality, James Chapman for sport, Michelle Jones for the Welsh baccalaureate, Angela Barlett for the work-based learning award and Brenda Gleave for the Rhyl campus award.
