RSPB Conwy nature reserve is showing people a lot more than just feathered friends this summer.
Bats, bumblebees and butterflies are among the creatures that will captivate summer holiday visitors to the reserve.
Leah Williams of RSPB Conwy said: “There’s a great variety of creatures on the reserve at the moment, the height of summer is the best time to look out for butterflies, moths, bees and more.”
Leah continued: “Most insects, especially butterflies and moths, suffered from the cold damp weather we had last year. We’ve had many visitors comment on the lack of these creatures in their gardens this year. However, now the weather is becoming brighter and warmer we’re seeing a lot more.”
To help the bumblebees, butterflies and moths, RSPB Conwy staff and volunteers are planting native British flowering plants in the wildlife garden and encouraging wildflower growth around the reserve.
