A PENSIONER visiting an Anglesey cemetery has been injured by shots from an air rifle.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which occurred at St Mary's Cemetery, Holyhead, on Sunday, September 1.
It is believed that the shots, which gave the pensioner light stomach injuries, came from the Cleveland Avenue area.
A Police spokesman said: " We are issuing a plea for witnesses to come forward.
"The victim did not see anyone and believes the person responsible was aiming for a dog which was roaming the cemetery.
"Extensive house-to-house enquiries have been conducted, but residents did not see anything.
"This is a totally unacceptable crime - a serious injury or death could have occurred."
