FOR the first time pupils at Welsh medium school Ysgol y Creuddyn managed to attain pass grades in all their subjects and the standards were very high.

Among the noteworthy successes were Rebecca Jeffers, who gained four A grades and Angharad Hughes who gained three A grades.

Headteacher Meirion Davies said: "All the pupils have smiles on their faces today, we are delighted with the results they have achieved.

"Although perhaps not so many pupils have achieved A grades this year, I’m very happy to report that all of them have attained passes in their subjects.

"Most of them will go to the university of their choice but also many will be taking a year out to go off travelling or to earn money so that they won’t be so much in debt after university."

Elgan Thomas, from Craig y Don, Llandudno, is off to the Royal Northern College of Music, after attaining two A’s and a B in music, drama and English literature.

He said: "I’m obviously over the moon about this because even though I was predicted the results I was expecting them.

"Tonight a whole bunch of us from the school are going to celebrate at the Broadway Boulevard where there is a phone party!"

Rebecca Jeffers gained A’s in maths, chemistry, physics and an A in AS level further maths.

Rebecca, who is from Abergele said: "I’m very happy as it means I’ll be going off to Cambridge University in the Autumn.

"I really wasn’t expecting such results although I have worked very hard."

Sioned Alaw Huws, from Llanelian, near Old Colwyn, achieved two A’s and a B.

She said: "I’ll be going off to Cardiff University to study music, but tonight I’m joining everyone who is going to Broadway Boulevard."
